#7 Vivi's Party Girl off six months and returns for a strong trainer.
Scratch of #7 changes the race...
- 4 (A) 5/2
- 10 (D) 9/2
- Ungraded #3 win 3.30
GP Four (chalky)
#1A Handsome Jack, off the layoff but by far the class of the field. He's a gelding, and if he were a potential stud horse, he would not be available in a $50,000 race.
- 1A (A) 3/5 win 0.80
GP Five (chalky)
#8 Joe's Blazing Aaron is well named, since he's a frontrunner on the turf. In more competitive races he might be overwhelmed, but here he's got a real chance to wire 'em.- 8 (A) 2/1
- 2 (C) 7/2
- 4 (C) 7/2
- Ungraded #6 win 2.70
GP Six (chalky)
Co-favorites here. #5 Bergerac is 6/1 in the morning line and an implied 10/1 according to Brisnet. #10 Silver Rock, a layoff horse, is the favorite according to both the linemaker and Brisnet. We believe they're about equal, and wouldn't be stunned to see them in an exacta box. - 5 (A) 9/2
- 10 (A) 9/2
- 1 (D) 8/1
- 6 (D) 8/1
- Ungraded #10 win 1.50
GP Seven (normal)
#5 Pushthebuttonmax. Two races, both sharp, and there's no way the crowd can miss that. Line: 2/1. We need a bit more.
- 5 (A) 5/2
- 1 (C) 4/1
- 6 (C) 4/1
- 7 (C) 4/1 win 4.10
GP Eight (normal-chalky)
#1 Scenario Analysis. We agree with the line, and Brisnet likes him by 9 prime points, which usually means a 40% win chance. We don't go that far because there are some actual competitors in here.- 1 (A) 5/2
- 3 (B) 3/1
- 4 (C) 4/1
- 10 (C) 4/1
- Ungraded #6 win 4.80
GP Nine The Sugar Swirl Gr. III. (chalky)
The real question is how the crowd will price #6 Dustanddiamonds. The #3 Spectacular Sky does have a chance on the front end, so demand at least even money if you go on the #6. The main chance in this race rests on one of these two. You know there ain't much competition when the "C" horse is 2/1. (Spectacular Sky scratched.)
- 6 (A) 1/1 win 0.50
3 (C) 2/1
GP Ten (chalky)
The obvious chalk is #11 Patrice Marion with the fabulous turf rider Javier Castellano. Note that Todd Pletcher, however, is not the greatest turf trainer who ever lived. #10 Will to Shine is a rehab project for an obscure trainer. She will try to wire 'em and will almost certainly keep the lead to the half mile pole. Her jockey, though, is not the greatest turf rider who ever lived. Plus, he has not proven he can ration her speed. #6 Dixie Dear, carrying Jersey Joe, has gotten into the habit of finishing second. The competition after these gets mighty thin; the chances are 90% that one of these three will win.- 11 (A) 2/1
- 10 (B) 5/2
- 6 (B) 5/2
- Ungraded #12 win 5.90
