The toughest race on the card. #5 Attractive Ride may win and has good races at the distance. But this field is simply too tough for any horse to go at 5/2. Ditto for #6, Gospel Lesson. We'd want 5/1 minimum on either.
- 1 (D) 12/1
- 1A (B) 6/1 or 4/1 with his partner
- 2 (D) 12/1
- 3 (A) 5/1
- 4 (B) 7/1
- 5 (A) 5/1
- 7 (C) 9/1 Won 32.30
Would love to get #7 Blondee at 8/1, as we think she's the only "A" horse in the race. The morning favorite is #4, Sorcerer's Urge, at 9/5 but not in our book. She's 1-for-8 in this type of race. Does that say 9/5 to you?
- 1 (C) 6/1
- 4 (B) 4/1
- 5 (C) 6/1
- 6 (C) 6/1
- 7 (A) 7/2
- Won by ungraded #2 @ 17.70
#2 Secret Heiress sneaked into this claimer as a result of having run for a weak tag way back when. The trainer sure knows how to read a condition book. The others are overmatched.
- 2 (A) 1/1 Win 1.10
Competitiveness can't be judged by field size alone. Here's a short field in which five of the six stand an honest chance. Don't take a short price.
- 2 (A) 3/1
- 3 (D) 8/1
- 4 (B) 4/1
- 5 (A) 3/1
- 6 (B) 4/1 Win 1.00
Your stance here depends on whether you believe Thomas Amoss is giving #8 Done Gone an honest drop. If so, the horse is done gone.
- 7 (A) 1/1
- Won by ungraded #3 @ 4.10
All depends on whether #12 Daily Miracle gets into the gate. If that doesn't happen, all the others are worth a point or two under what's listed here. Daily Miracle has been off a long, long time, so you want to get some kind of price.
- 4 (C) 5/1
- 5 (D) 7/1
- 7 (D) 7/1
- 9 (B) 4/1
- 10 (D) 7/1
- 12 (A) 7/2
- Won by ungraded #2 @ 3.20
