TURFWAY
2: King David's Son. 0/4 on Poly. Duty Yeoman has top spd, best poly record (3/12)
Duty placed.
5: (KY Downs) Mr. Coach. Drops to right level, even so, 113@84, nobody in his class.
Apparently there was. DH paid $2.80.
6: Lt. Pat is the ML fave at 3/1 after 5 miserable races, including one profound failure at this very level. What am I not getting here? Hasn't raced in 2 months, indifferent works. Doh! I get it. The ML guy has a sense of humor. Kennson's Count has early speed and two tough races at this level. Love to get the 5/1 Mr. Sense of Humor has predicted.
Paid $7.40
7:(KY Downs) Allinondeputyjin. Keeps missing, keeps dropping, will score now.
Paid $4.40
11:(Ky Downs) Dr. Dubai. Ditto.
Apparently not.
12: Honourable Rag. Zito firster entry looks good, but all entries are overbet. If Gentleman James goes off at over 10/1, there's the longshot play.
Gentleman James paid $7.20
13: Teuflesberg. Wonderful horse in bad hands, both trainer and jockey. Trainer is part-owner, so that means Teuflesberg will likely never find the conditioner he needs. He's about a 40% chance to win here, but the odds will be stomped way below 3/2.
Scratched.
15: (KY Downs) Fun Given. Son of Point Given, Grandson of Thunder Gulch, and already screwed up by Bill Fires. However, the horse has the talent to overcome this field, especially given the short distance.
Faded as usual.
ARLINGTON
3: Beware Baby. 2/2 on the Poly and by HUGE margins.
Won $2.80
4: Clerpark Two in a row on poly, just claimed from weaker trainer.
Failed at 3/5, crappy odds, no bet.
5: Plenilunio Keeps dropping, keeps losing -- but no horse in field has won on Poly.
Showed at 3/2.
6: Trigger Happy, but for place off the vacation.
Won, paid $3.40 to place.
8: Jennie R. rare horse capable of wiring turf routes. But so is Honor Colony. Do they wear each other out for Rich In Spirit with Early Fires aboard? Honor Colony will be a bargain, as Chicago-centric fans will underplay this excellent horse because he last ran in the wilds of Minnesota.
Scenario played out, but picked the wrong stalker.
9: My Best Pal Red. Yawn. Baird, Catalano. 2/3 on Poly. Next race, please.
Won and then DQ'd.
10: Fongtastic. After a thousand tries, they admit this horse is a claimer. That doesn't guarantee him a win here, though. He's 115@84. Great Victory is 118 @92. Winchester Bay, 116@89. Our Cat, 115@90. So I'm aboard with Great Victory.
Won and paid $7.60
11: Master Commander (0/13 now.) Seems to have an awful lot of bad racing luck. All of Chicago's best riders have given him a try, and all have failed. This is a good horse in the hands of a bad trainer. Yet no other horse in the race has remotely as much talent. There's always the possibility he'll wire the race.
He tried that and failed. No bet.
LOUISIANA DOWNS
1: Isabella Symphoney, drops back to right level for way too ambitious trainer.
Also ran at 7/2.
5: Just like Trish, with Lobo Tango, an improver, in a box.
Just awful.
8: Must Be He, if in, which is doubtful. If not, Kinoko Man with Jacinto, best turf jock.
Even awfuller.
9: Kipper's Illusion. Lara takes over 3/7 horse from weaker trainer.
Oh-for-Louisiana.
BAY MEADOWS
1: Peaceful Flight, might get 3/5 on Hollendorfer horse.
Paid $3.60
2: Kendrick's Patsy. 2 for 3 at BM, 6 for 11 on turf.
Just about everybody in the race scratched.
4: Putmeinyourwill. Hollendorfer again, just missed at this class last time.
Entry won, paid $4.00
5: Voracious. Might get a price here., claimed, ran way too fast early in last and weakened.
Showed at 5/2.
7: Global Control. Finally meets field weak enough to beat.
No bet. Inside speed bias too strong.
9: What's That Sound. Consistent horse. Can't win above $10K, can't lose below it.
Just missed at 6/5.
EMERALD DOWNS
1: Follow Your Shot (favorite Sunshine Shelli was 1/11, won cheapie in the slop.)
Paid $5.00
2: Aire De Stripes, but was the one good race a fluke? Valid Access has a shot too.
Lost at 4/5.
3: Appleness, faded in mile 3 times now, so they enter in longer race? 2nd to Rub It In?
Rub It In paid $5.20
4: Little Serena, or the 1,2 firsters in this cheap-o.
Paid $3.40.
5: Sir Winston's Air, Lucarelli claims from bad trainer.
Also ran.
6: Roosterado DQ'd last, trainer is 43% on 2nd starts.
Paid $4.60.
7: Berry Swiss, speed on the rail and last was tougher than it looked.
Also ran at 30-1.
8: Victory Script, no brainer in starter allowance, 2/5 ML.
Paid $2.20
9: Fast Missile. Great run in ultra-pace last.
Lost heartbreaker at 3/2.
10: High Measure, but switches to lousy trainer, jockey.
Placed at 4/1, no bet.
