BELMONT, SEPT. 15

1: Hot Chalk: La Presse.
Never close at 4/5.

2: Trifecta: Devereux, Hedge Fund Investor, Comandeered.
$2 tri paid $84.50 ($6 box)

3: Hot Chalk: Americanus.
Paid $4.30

4: Anybody but The Green Monkey at odds-on.
Roi Maudit, $22.80 for a $10 dutch.

5: Metro Meteor.
Distant place at 3/2.

6: MATRON Syriana's Song.
Not really.

7: NOBEL DAMSEL. Jeesh. Throw darts.
Silver Charades, new trainer
Bayou's Lassie, runs early, first time at Belmont, but Gomez can ride the turf.
Fantastic Shirl, big move after traffic troubles, Desormeaux can ride turf.
Dance Away Capote, but only for the exotic mix.
Pommes Frites, best bet, except that Bridgmohan is awful on the turf.
Humongo superfecta.

8:FUTURITY Kodiak Cowboy.
Placed at 4/5.

9: GAZELLE Hot Chalk: Rags to Riches but the price will be ludicrous. Lear's Princess is 2nd best by quite a margin, and I guess a straight exacta would pay some pitiful amount.
Lear's won, we passed.

10: Lightning Larry, the likely favorite, is a suspicious dropper. Contessa claimed him for $50, he backed up badly in that race, and is now for sale at $25? Suspect he's a sore horse.
Larry was never much in it, we passed.
