Hot Chalk, September 16.

DELAWARE
1: Christmas Dawning. Eight Belles, the ML fave, is an impressive firster, but a firster.
Paid $4.60

2: Sake. I don't know, best race was in slop. Odds will be skinny, so I'll save my $2.
Paid $2.80

3: Frenchman's Cove. Graham family O&T ran huge speed fig in maiden.
Showed as favorite.

5: Ozzie's Boys has class, but severe bias toward rail and early speed gives us King Jacob.
Ozzie's Boys paid $8.80, King Jacob placed.

6: Liza Lu. Now that they know she can win, they put Rose on her back.
No bet, showed at 3/5.

7: Topside Trader 116@80 $10.40
Village Band 116@88. SCRATCH
Unbeliever 117@98 $1.20
Dubai Cat 116@96 $4.80
Sword of Dubai 116@90. $9.50
Back to Even 116@92. $21.10
That gives us 5 in. Unbeliever seems to have the edge.
Unbeliever pays too low, was always 4 or more back in last.
That leaves 5 horses eligible, need 6-1 to cover.
The only horses worth the money are:
Bet Topside, (bad owner, jockey)
Sword (great owner, jockey
and Back... (poor record at distance -- 0/3)
Sword of Dubai paid $21.00
(for $6.00 bet.)
