HOLLYWOOD
ONE: $10K CLAIMER FOR 3YO FILLIES
#1 Ida March. They're giving up and hoping for a claim.
#2: Sweet and Jazzy. An easy, lucky wire-to-wire win last time and an inflated speed figure. That will attract too much money. In addition, the drop doesn't make much sense. She just won, she earned $25K since May and they'll risk losing her at $10K?
#3 Lisa Lulu. Out of form.
#4 Binky's Sister. Took 8 races to win her maiden and would have to improve 5+ lengths to be anywhere near the wire.
#5 Miss Seamless. Dropping, out of form, negative jockey switch.
#6 Dos Viente. Drops after near miss. Claimed for $8K so the move down makes sense. Won't be a negative for the stable even if she wins and is claimed. In fact, a win would net the stable a $10K profit overall.
TWO MAIDEN CLAIMER, PURSE $16K, 2YO
1: Just Gettin Started. First route after awful debut in a sprint.
2: Doc Can Dance. Nice mid-race move in his only route. But at least he has a route.
3: Big Kiss. Showed some life in Fairplex route, but not much.
4: Tak Gamo. Flash of early speed in only route.
5: Alert Rocket: Two dull efforts, a stint on the DL, a couple of lazy works, first blinkers, a 6% trainer angle ... what's to like?
6: What's the Rumpus: Placed in a Fairplex route and has early speed.
7: Big Son of a Gun: No fancy breeding here, but claimed for $32K and has two good efforts in Hollywood poly. 31% trainer angle and Raffy up. The crowd is going to pound this one below the horizon. The potential payout here is only $10K, so the trainer must be looking down the road. And must have been mighty impressed. The owners have won graded stakes with this trainer, and seem to have long term ambitions.
THREE TURF CLAIMER, PURSE $27K, 3 AND UP WHO HAVEN'T WON IN 2010
(not counting maidens and claimers for $20K and below.)
1: Equiparado. 0-12 this year. 0/2 turf. Has some stamina. 0/3 at good odds.
2: Gold Star Status. 1-7 this year. 0/2 turf. Bad trip last race. 0/1 at good odds.
3: Justice Reigns. 2-11 this year. 0/2 turf. Won last on poly, Joel Rosario rides. 1/2 good odds.
4: Booyah. 0-2 this year. 1/9 turf, 0/1 good odds. Previous turf starts way too ambitious.
5: Alabama Boy: 0-8 this year. 2/11 turf. 2/2 good odds. Poor trainer, form, jockey.
6: Swift Winds: 0-10 this year, but loves to show. 5/34 turf, 0/3 good odds. No speed, some late kick, can't seem to pass horses when it counts. Monster speed figs at Delmar and Hollywood and had been racing against classier horses for a long time. If you believe the speed and class figures, this horse romps.
7: El Merito: 0-1 this year, 4/18 turf, 0/2 good odds. Layoff, drop, fast work, proven winner.
8: Yvette's Pride: 0-12 this year, 3/17 on turf. Sharp workout and Bejarano is the best turf rider in the race.
TWO: 1, 1A
FOUR: 1,4,6 maybe 3
FIVE: 8 maybe 2,6,10
SEVEN 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 Helluva longshot scramble.
EIGHT: 1,2,3,4,5,8,9 another scramble
NINE: 1,4,6,7,8
