1st: Daddy Joe-Wolf Trap box.
Wolf Trap won last, has never raced this low.
Daddy Joe, inside speed, toss muddy last. Levine a big plus.
2nd: Excess Capital.
Works, speed figs, form, grandson of Forty Niner. Worth even money.
3rd: THE WITHERS. Only four in the gate, so safe to say, no superfecta wagering.
J Be K the obvious choice. But Harlem Rocker is the play if the favorite goes to a ridiculous price, which is likely. Harlem's allowance win was a monster, and it's not his fault he wasn't in a graded race.
4th: Road Not Traveled 10/1.
The pace will have to melt, but this is a mile race. No way is this horse 5 times worse than the favorite.
5th: State bred maiden claimers on the turf.
Glorious America. Contessa the only competent trainer in here.
6th: Super: Building New Era, Ty's Ridge, Raynick's Fan, Ide Rejoice.
7th: Brecciate. Last race pretty convincing after stumble start.
Longshot: New York Style 12/1. Steadied in last, trainer 25% 2nd race after layoff.
8th: At least five of these could win at this freak distance.
Longshots: Regal Playtime. 8/1. Toss turf.
Swept the Series, 4/1, bumpy trip.
9th: THE BEAUGAY
Obviously, Criminologist, and just as obviously, 3/5.
But Factual Contender 4/1 is the horse if Criminologist falters. Trainer Barclay Tagg is a 3/1 shot in any graded stakes, and Factual's last was good enough to win this.
10th: Always go for a longshot in the last race.
Vladimira 10/1. Definitely improving and lost last by a photo. First on grass but has the breeding.
