Friday nite the geniuses who dream up races at Aqueduct scheduled a 2-mile race. Two miles!
What is the point of putting horses through that kind thing? I know, I know, some trainers lobbied for it, or it wouldn't have made the card.
But the fact that three of the eight horses could not finish should tell the Aqueduct boys that this wasn't their most brilliant move.
Really, a mile and a quarter is already farther than a Thoroughbred wants to run.
Why make racing riskier, and harder on the horses, than it already is?
