BAY MEADOWS REPORT, NOV. 11
Race 1- (Maiden Special Weight)
Hate these races but take William T with two good
races and entry mate with 80 Beyer on first out.
No price, so start a P3 and Place Pick all here.
The entry finished 1-2 with Baze coming from nowhere
to get second. Only question was whether the lady
standing next to me, who seemingly bet her life savings
on a 1-5, would have a heart attack before cashing her
ticket.

RACE 2 - Let the crowd bet Baze down to even money on a big
class jump. I take Sendipity, a 1/20 lifetime making a
big drop off a decent last.
I was wrong but so was the crowd. Baze finished
second, nosing me out of the Place 9 early in the day.

RACE 3- Again, watch the Baze drop. I take Last Thoughts
who is turning things around. Anything over 3-1 is
good. Otherwise it is P-3 time.
Ran last. No excuse. Stuff happens.

RACE 4 - OK,OK, I will bite and take Baze on Secret Scheme
and a 103 in a minor stakes race. But in all bets my
insurance is Corcine who has three nice races.
Baze finishes out. Corcine goes off at omething like
5-1. I bet WPS . Finishes second and I get $13 and
change

RACE 5 - Gaddingabout. keeps missing but is the best of a Bad
lot.
Lost in the last 50 yards.
Timothy Patrick sez: But wait a minute, according to the charts, Gaddingabout won and paid $12.80. Still got that ticket?
______________________________________________________
RACE 6- Country Trail. No great races from here but unlike
the others nothing bad.
No value at 7-5 so I do a P3.
Either way,losing ticket.

RACE 7 - Funtrip. Ignore the last, she is back in her range
with cheap claimers.
My eyes say we won, the people around me say we
won, the replay says we won but the official disagree.
______________________________________________________
RACE 8 - Cut the Mustard. Up for claim in an optional claimer
which ls her way of ignoring the conditions that she could not
meet. Owners cash two checks today, will be surprised
if she is not claimed.
Too bad, the owners got a check for second. I got
nothing.

RACE 9-Movement - Back to a sprint to close, a lousy card
but, remember, when you celebrate a good day the
bartender never knows that he money came from
Was not crazy about this race last night. Lost
interest when pick was scratched.
Will get them next time....
Sez Timothy Patrick: I note that this turned out to be a Bay Meadows special, a three horse race.
Check the chart if you don't believe me, but they actually paid a $3.50 trifecta.
I also noted that it was either a very sharp or very lucky crowd out with you Saturday. No longshots won, and most payoffs were 3-1 or lower. The longest shot was $5.60 to 1, and that horse was third in the betting. Yes, Bay Meadows has short fields and low odds, but the average winner in the average race pays 9/2. Did you come home with chalk on your hands?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SIMULCASTING LONGSHOT OF THE DAY:
AQU race 9-Vesuvius $2WPS. Costs that much just to
go through the gate.
BOTTOM LINE:
Left Bay Meadows $20 lighter for the day. My AQU longshot was
the back end of what would have been a $170 DD if 6
other horses had nor beaten it to the wire.
