BC SATURDAY

1: MARATHON
Looking for 3-1 here...
  • Zappa. (121) 1 win at distance.
  • Sixties Icon (120) 4 good ones at distance.
  • Cedar Mountain (121) 3 good ones.
  • Big Booster (120) 3 good ones.

2: DOWNHILL TURF SPRINT
14 entered and 6 worth a bet at 5-1 or over.
  • Mr. Nightlinger (122) will want the lead, but so will everybody else. 6/1? Take it!
  • Hero's Reward (120) 9/18 turf.
  • Fleeting Spirit (120) 4/8 turf
  • True to Tradition (121) 7/15 turf.
  • California Flag (121) 4/8, peaking, best speed at distance, and winner at SA. 15/1!
  • Desert Code (119) Outclassed, but 3/6 at this distance/surface. And 30-1.
3: MILE
Well Armed (124) and 2/4 at SA. Worth a small price.
Wheel underneath....
  • Lewis Michael (122) proven at this class, stranger to SA.
  • Surf Cat (122) proven at this class, and SoCal champ.
  • Pyro (121) but never been to SoCal.
  • Alburtus Maximus (122) and best win at SA.
  • Mast Track (121) huge win at SA.
  • My Pal Charlie (124) but stranger to So Cal.
4: TURF MILE
Once again, super/dutch seems to be the option. I would make out at least one ticket with Goldikova in the key.
  • Whatsthescript (122) knows the course, has the turf jock.
  • Goldikova (126) Astoundingly strong Euro races.
  • Kip Deville (121) 9/13 at distance and 2/2 in L.A.
  • Daytona (121) 7/13 and 3/3. Has SA wins.
  • Thorn Song (121) 7/15 on turf.

5: JUVIE ROUTE
This race plays to off-the-pace horses... Play the tote longshots...
  • Bushranger (123) has the class, but wrong distance, surface and name.
  • Munnings (120) has only a maiden win.
  • Mine that Bird (118) 4/5 on poly, including a distance win and 30-1!
  • Midshipman (118) May not be much better than Mine That Bird. But much lower price.
  • Terrain (119) can close on poly, and 20-1.
  • Square Eddie (121) Beat a good bunch at KEE and at this distance/surface.
  • Street Hero (118) proven at SA.
  • Midshipman (118) has the stretch energy.
6: THE YOUNG TURF STARS
A turf race that actually plays to early speed.
  • Vacquero (116) live longshot, early speed .. gave favorite here a good run.
  • Bittel Road (118) doesn't know what it's like to lose, probably will find out.
  • Skipadate (119) Obviously can run with this crowd.
  • Grand Adventure (119) improving, 2/2, monster last.
  • Donativum (120) last race in Britannia qualifies.
  • Westphalia (120) ran 3 euro races that would have beaten this field.
  • City Style (118) last race good enough.
7: THE SPRINT
  • Fabulous Strike (125) obviously a contender, did lose last to Black Seventeen in Bel-slop.
  • Fatal Bullet (123) new to SA, that's the only knock.
  • Midnight Lute (124) shoulda kicked ass at DMR, did not.
  • Street Boss (121) Knows the territory at least.
  • Black Seventeen (125) never discount an improving horse.
  • Cost of Freedom (122) local wins good, lack of class bad. Peaking at right time, tho.
8: 10 FURLONGS ON THE LAWN.
Well, it's down to 5...
  • Grand Couturier (126) monster monster win, but today's turf won't be yielding.
  • Red Rocks (123) Beat the guy above once.
  • Better Talk Now (118) would be fun to see Gramps in the circle one last time, but...
  • Soldier of Fortune (124)
  • Winchester (123) Good Chicago win.
  • Conduit (125) Has been kicking grass across the pond.
9: THE CLASSIC.

Curlin (126) wins his final race. Underneath are:
  • Fairbanks (124)
  • Student Council (124)
  • Henry the Navigator (125)
  • Raven's Pass (126)
  • Go Between (124)
  • Duke of Marmalade (124)
  • Casino Drive (124)
